New Braunfels will honor veterans with a downtown ceremony and parade Saturday, November 7, 2026. The city’s event calendar lists a 9 a.m. ceremony at Main Plaza, followed by the parade at 10 a.m. The event is free.
Where and when
The city gives the ceremony address as 500 Main Plaza, New Braunfels, TX 78130. Its calendar reserves a 9–11 a.m. event window, with the ceremony first and the parade beginning an hour later. Residents interested in both should plan to arrive for the earlier ceremony rather than only the parade.
Local veterans’ organizations, community floats and nonprofit groups are among the announced participants. The event provides an opportunity to recognize service members alongside neighbors and local organizations.
A local veteran will lead the event
The city names retired Chief Warrant Officer 5 Gene Forester as the 2026 grand marshal and guest speaker. Its biography says he was born in New Braunfels, raised in Guadalupe County and joined the Texas National Guard in January 1955 before a 44-year career. These details are attributed to the city’s published event information.
Check the route before travelling
The official page includes a parade map and a link for people seeking to participate. Use those current materials to plan where to watch and how to approach downtown. The calendar does not, by itself, establish a complete list of road closures or a particular parking space.
Participation registration and attending as a spectator are different arrangements. Organizations should review the organizer’s registration link rather than assume that appearing at the start is sufficient to enter a float.
For event questions, the city lists specialevents@newbraunfels.gov. Check the official calendar for any changes before leaving. The Saturday community event is separate from the November 11 city-facility holiday closures covered in our other guide.
